Interview

Who influence you graphically?

My graphics are influenced by the naivety of scribbles. I approach a drawing in this manner but then work on it a hundred times more, this is when the exciting part happens.

The axonometric can be viewed as the most complete means of representation, to what extent do you agree with this?

Yes, I believe that the axonometric is an important means of representation because it doesn’t tell the spectator what to look at or in which way, like a perspective. I trust that the spectator has enough fantasy to create his own image and perception of the spaces contained in the axonometric drawings.

What is the reason behind the fragmentation of your drawings?

The fragmentation of my drawings is based on the idea of creating images of spaces that are not fully there. Based on the idea of not fully understanding what you are looking at, I can invite you to think about the spaces that you do not see.

What is the reason behind your monochrome palette restriction?

Parts of the drawings are based on material developed by cad. Just as the idea of the fragmentation I believe that the naivety, one could say ´defaults´, that occur while working freely by hand allows me and the spectator to imagine something else. I think that I don’t tell the whole story with these drawings and try to explore the qualities with this.

The drawings are from a series of drawings developed in Atelier De Vylder Vinck Taillieu, Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio. The theme of the project is to explore atmospheres with the help of corners, or by drawings of corners.
