"23 Level (Snowballs)" is an artwork by Bård Breivik from 1970, which is now part of an exhibition at Bergen Kunsthall titled Earthworks (26 Jan-7 April, 2024). Taking inspiration from the name of a dystopian sci-fi novel carried by the landscape artist Robert Smithson, the exhibition draws together the work of more than three dozen artists and collectives. The selection of works alludes to the interconnectedness between art, space, nature and human intervention — debates which hold particular urgencies in the Nordic context.
