3rd winner of the "Tunnel Evangelion" International Ideas Competition, launched by Reuse Italy and Dropcity for the reuse of the Magazzini Raccordati, Milan Central Station.
"The Lombard capital and the entire Po Valley have been among the world's worst air quality locations for years, with Milan regularly exceeding the EU's particulate matter limits in the first quarter. No matter how much is already being done to fade the problem, it is still not enough.
Rethinking a part of the city like the Magazzini Raccordati can represent an important opportunity to address the problem of city air quality collectively and systemically. Our proposal is based on the design of a research centre on air pollution in cities where architecture becomes an instrument of change within the urban macro system."
