Lost Paradise - Assemble, Dissemble, Resemble
Kit Sze (Jessy) YAU

This visionary urban design concept reimagines the public infrastructure as an open, adaptable system. The modular 'urban surface' allows for diverse uses and organic growth to meet the evolving needs of the public space - street community. Key elements like flexible component, permeable borders, and light constructions with vertical capacity facilitate social interaction, small social activities, and a constantly changing palette of associations. By designing for assembly, disassembly, and reassembly, this project transforms the urban landscape into a dynamic 'lost paradise' that can be continuously reshaped to foster street community.

The project was developed within the context of the studio 'Bizarre Detail' tutored by Thomas Tsang, Department of Architecture of the University of Hong Kong.
