Just as we inhabit the environment, the environment inhabits us. Air, water, and earth travel through our mouths, our nostrils, and our pores, they flow through our veins and enrich our blood. This dynamic exchange of materials and energy between humans and the soil resembles a metabolic process. It transforms the physical, economic, social, and mental dimensions of our lives.
Minett: The Garden of Earthly Metabolisms explores both earth and human
bodies as archives of extraction politics. Archives that hold the key to understanding where we come from, who we are, and where we are going.
The project was developed within the context of the design studio “Worlding Soils. Caring for Soil Communities in Minett” as part of the Master in Architecture at the University of Luxembourg.
