nishakara
Jakub Pietryszyn
Nishakara is an octagonal habitation system with 3 main expansions, focused on helium-3 research. Helium-3 is a gas that can be processed into fuel which will be needed to travel further. Foldable parts of the habitat are based on origami structures, inspired by japanese folding fan. Instead of a traditional airlock, habitat has been equipped with two spacesuit docks and security hatches from the inside. Thanks to expansion abilities of the habitat we can obtain 110 cubic meters/person. The moon compound is covered with molten regolith, and powered by a nuclear reactor.
The project was created during AAKA space architecture workshop.
