The goal of the project is to convert a 18th-century townhouse into an urban art complex in the historic harbor of old Montreal, deciding on a strategy of intervention requiring a honest assessment of possibility.
This project, developed within the context of Harvard GSD, attempts to resolve the binary opposition between the old and the new in a transition that can be understood in multiple ways: from the styles and decoration to defamiliarized texture; from the shadowy space to the pure and neutral background; or from entanglement with history and time to a suspended reality.
